Detail Itinerary

DAY – 1: AIRPORT – NEGOMBO (No Meals)

• Arrive in Sri Lanka. You will be met by our representatives and transferred to Negombo.
• Overnight in Negombo.

DAY – 2: NEGOMBO – GALLE (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

• After breakfast proceed to Galle. 
• Lunch – Western Sri Lanka Buffet Meal.
• Galle (Excursion will take approx: 1hr): Sri Lanka’s most historically interesting town is Galle. Was a major port, but today still handles small shipping and sailing boats in the natural harbor.
• Stroll around the lighthouse and harbour or visit the old town where you can see the traditional lace makers and wood carvers and purchase the finest souvenirs.
• The Dutch Fort: The massive Portuguese and Dutch Fort which is a “World Heritage Site” and also oldest landmark. But the city may be much older. Some scholars believe it to be the “Tarshish” of the Old Testament, to which King Solomon sent his merchant vessels, and to which Jonah fled from the Lord.
• Dinner and overnight in Galle.

DAY – 3: MIRISSA – WHALE WATCHING – YALA (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

• Early morning at 05.30am proceed to Mirissa Habour.
• Whale & Dolphin watching: Most popular attraction among the tourists who visit Sri Lanka.
• Mirissa is the best place to start your whale and dolphin watching tour in Sri Lanka.
• In warm Indian Ocean you can see Blue whales, Bryde´s whales, Sperm whales, Fin whales, sometimes Killer whales, and Common dolphins, Bottlenose dolphins, Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins and Striped dolphins.
• Sometimes you can see turtles and various fish species, for example Bluefin tuna and flying fish. (Excursion will take approx: 2-3 Hrs). Return to Hotel. Packed breakfast could be arranged.
• Leave for Yala (Travel time approx: 4 & 1/2hrs).
• Lunch – Sri Lankan Buffet Meal.
• Dinner and overnight in Yala.
• **Optional Experience: Overnight in tented Camps Bordering Yala National Park**

DAY – 4: YALA – COLOMBO (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

• Early morning at 06.30am proceed on a Jeep Safari in the Yala National Park.
• YALA NATIONAL PARK (The excursion will take approx: 2 hrs by Jeep) : Covering 126,786 hectares including the Strict Natural Reserve (Block II). The most familiar is Block I established in 1938. Yala is famous for its big herds and large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals.
• Return to Hotel. Packed breakfast could be arranged. Check out and proceed to Colombo.
• Lunch – Sri Lankan Buffet Meal. Proceed to Colombo.
• Afternoon leave for Colombo & commence a city & shopping tour in Colombo.
• *Colombo – a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort – the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street – the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also visit the BMICH – see the replica of Avukana Buddha & the Independence Square.
• *Shopping in Colombo : *ODEL Unlimited & BAREFOOT (Excursion will take approx: 2-3Hrs)
• Dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Colombo– Set Menu.
• Overnight in Colombo.

DAY – 5: COLOMBO – MINNERIYA – POLONNARUWA (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

• After breakfast proceed to Minneriya.
• Lunch – Western OR Sri Lanka Buffet.
• Jeep Safari at *Minneriya National Park – This 8889ha National Park is famed for its large population of elephants in herds of 100 to 150 roaming in the jungle and seen in the catchment area of the lake.
• Entrance is at Ambagaswewa about 6 km from Habarana on the main Habarana Polonnaruwa road. The viarieties of wild animals include about 300 wild elephants, wild buffaloes, wild boar, spotted deer, sloth bear, Sambhur, leopards, crocodiles, jackals, 9 kinds of amphibians, 25 kinds of reptiles, 160 species of birds, 26 varieties of fishes, 78 varieties of butterflies are recorded from the Minneriya National Park. (Excursion will take approx: 2Hrs by Jeep)
• Dinner and overnight in Giritale.

DAY – 6: POLONNARUWA – MATALE – KANDY (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

• Morning, city tour of ancient Polonnaruwa: Another UNESCO “World Heritage Site”, was the Capital of Sri Lanka from 11th – 13th Centuries and contains some splendid and spectacular statue relics.
• Lankatilake, Tivanka and Thuparama are the most beautiful and largest Image Houses and Tivanka has the best examples of frescoes of the Polonnaruwa period. Rankoth Vehera and Kirivehera are well preserved large stupas, and Gal Vihare – a rock shrine, has four Buddha statues – two seated, one standing and one reclining. (Excursion will take approx: 2Hrs)
• Thereafter, proceed to Kandy, enroute visit Matale (Travel time approx: 4Hrs)
• Spice Garden in Matale to see the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. (Excursion will take approx: 30minutes).
• Lunch – Western OR Sri Lanka Buffet.
• *City tour of Kandy : including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Arts & Crafts Centre, Gem Museum. *Kandy – the hill capital, venue of the annual Perahera and was also the last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings.
• Lunch –Western Sri Lanka Buffet Meal.
• *Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic – ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka, the relic is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession. Dinner and overnight in Kandy.

DAY – 7: KANDY – AIRPORT (Breakfast)

• After breakfast proceed to airport.
